This is a link from a KSL News Broadcast about the program I assist at Franklin Elementary in Salt Lake. Most of the assistants are students from the U, but there are a few amount who come to volunteer just because they love it! :)
The first, second, and third graders come Tuesday through Friday from 2-4 PM (consisting of four blocks with around 16 students in each block), and the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders come Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7-8 AM. These sweet children arrive at school everyday at around 6:50 AM and don't often leave until 4:00PM. They have such long days, yet always have a definite smile on their faces.
We held a demo of the program (May 14-15) for the rotary club, the School of Music director from the U of U, and other major school representatives around the valley in order to promote music in the schools. Today, we are having the kids perform for their parents and teachers. They are really excited and have worked extremely hard. I am so happy that they love to play! Good luck today students! You will be great! :)

"The Trio"
American Idol

I was so sad to hear that David Archuleta was not voted this year's American Idol! I thought he might be a good role model for the younger generation, but I guess in this sense... NOT winning probably entitled him to more freedom in creating a career. Congrats to David Cook and good luck to both David's! :) It was fun watching...
Noah Nathaniel Lever

A cousin to baby Cameron, this little guy was adopted as a newborn! I didn't have pictures of him then, but I have some now! He's growing up so fast...he is such a doll! HIS proud parents are Jana and Nate Lever. :) He is shown here with two (I'm sure two of his favorites) of his Uncles.. Uncle Adam and Uncle Quinn. Good Looking family..

Identity Crisis
Well hello there my friends... it's official. I don't think I have EVER been asked more times in my life than these past few weeks if I was hispanic. I find it quite funny when my little first, second, and third graders ask me everyday, and yet... don't quite believe me haha.
Students: "Miss Lindsey, you speak Spanish?"
Me: "Nope! I'm Hawaiian.."
Do you think that it is worse that I may LOOK hispanic, and can understand "espanol", or that I AM Hawaiian, and can't speak anything but "aloha".. hmm... I'm not quite sure either.. I guess "aloha" isn't going to cut it. These kids need proof haha.

Mother's Day 2008
Hey there everyone! This Mother's Day was definitely a good one. I love you MOM! My family and I had a LITTLE too much fun with the camera. This is only a small portion of the large amount of photos taken. That day was the best! I got to talk with my little brother and my boyfriend. :) Such a great feeling. Anywho, enjoy the photos! I will be submitting more soon!
